Inspection The primary purpose of our inspection program is to help you maintain a course that meets current standards and a course that provides no extra risk to your students. Course Inspection We are Professional Vendor Members of The Association of Challenge Course Technologies (ACCT) and are prepared to conduct a thorough annual written inspection of your challenge course. |
||||||||||
| The written inspection is required in order to keep your course operating within industry standards. We provide a written evaluation of your challenge course. We do a hands-on inspection of each element, and we inspect all of your safety equipment. When we complete our inspection we provide you a written report on the condition of each element. If an element meets standards, we pass it on the inspection. If the element is not up to standards, we offer you solutions for bringing the element into compliance. (Because the challenge course is constantly exposed to the elements, our inspection can not take the place of ongoing internal inspections. Your course should be inspected by a trained facilitator prior to each use and in the event that some condition exists on the course that makes the facilitator question the element's safe condition or his ability to safely facilitate the element, the element should not be used until all concerns are satisfactorily addressed.) Additional Levels of Assessment: Program Evaluation The most dangerous practice in the challenge course field today is the operation of courses in isolation. When programs have gone through more than one generation of facilitators and/or site managers, they can fall into practices that are far outside of current standards. In this situation, the program practices are likely to place students in more risky situations. The challenge course industry has changed significantly in the past few years. Many practices that were acceptable only a short time ago have now been determined to be less than satisfactory. It is critical that all challenge course operators make the effort to network with others in the field in order to make sure that they remain in the mainstream of safe practices. We offer services related to the safe operation of your challenge course. We are available to help you design and manage your course so that -- most importantly -- it provides minimal risk to students, and also meets the goals of your organization. Operating Policies and Procedures Our Inspection Services can includes the evaluation of your operating policies and procedures. We review your policy manual with you and help you determine if the policies translate into the safe operation of your course. We observe your facilitators and help you assess their strengths and weaknesses, then we offer strategies for bringing them up to speed . We observe the ways that you program each element and offer suggestions for getting the most out of the element. Cost The cost for these services is based on a daily service fee. Fees for course inspection are determined by the size, design, and age of the course. Call, write, fax or e-mail us for more information. |
